2023 Test the processing speed of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and A17 Pro P2

When using Geekbench for scoring, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip achieved a score of 2,329 in single-core processing. This result is significantly inferior to the A17 Pro, when Apple's chip earned a score of 2,930 when processing single core.

However, in the multi-core processing performance test, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 achieved a score of 7,526, surpassing the score of 7,244 that the A17 Pro achieved in the same test.

When using AnTuTu to score processing performance, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip achieved a score of 474,884, 28% greater than the score of 372,255 achieved by Apple's A17 Pro chip. This Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 theoretically gives 28% faster performance than Apple's A17 Pro.

However, one thing to note is that scoring the chip's processing performance using applications is for reference only and relative. This score may change depending on the temperature and battery level on the smartphone. In addition, the chip's processing performance also depends on the optimal capabilities of the software platform the smartphone is using.

To evaluate Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and A17 Pro, which is the "speed king" of the mobile chip market, we still need to have practical experiences. Users and the technology world will have to wait for the first smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip to be sold on the market, then they will have the most accurate assessments of the processing speed of this chip.
